ITALIAN COFFEE GRANITA RECIPE

  • 16 oz brewed Spring Day Blend coffee  
  • ½ cup sugar  
  •  1 tsp vanilla extract  
  •  2 cups sweetened whipped cream  
  •  Sprinkle of cinnamon, chocolate shavings or lemon zest for garnish  

How to Make Italian Coffee Granita

Keeps up to 14 days in the fridge

STEP ONE

Stir coffee, sugar and vanilla together in a container until sugar is dissolved. Place container in the refrigerator until cooled. Once cooled, pour the mixture into a 9" x 5" loaf pan or 8" x 8" cake pan and place in the freezer. After 30 minutes, use a spoon to scrape up frozen flakes. Repeat this process every 30 to 45 minutes until the contents of the pan have gradually frozen and been scraped into coarse ice flakes. This should take about 3 to 4 hours in total.

STEP TWO

To serve, place ½ cup sweetened whipped cream into each glass or bowl and top with a 6-oz scoop of granita. 

STEP THREE

Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon, chocolate shavings or lemon zest.
