    homemade Caramel Syrup (or storebought), plus more for garnish

    salt
  • 1.5

  • Whipped cream

Caramel Syrup

  • 1|cup
    sugar
  • 0.25|cup
    water
  • 0.5|cup
    hot water
  • 1|tsp
    pure vanilla extract
HOW TO MAKE
  • 01

    Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat until it dissolves, about 3 to 4 minutes. Do not let it boil. 
  • 02

    Once completely dissolved, increase heat to medium-high and cover. Let boil for 2 to 3 minutes. 
  • 03

    Uncover and stir slowly until the color resembles light honey, about 6 minutes.
  • 04

    Remove from heat. Very carefully add hot water. The mixture may spurt when adding water, so stand back. 
  • 05

    Once the bubbling slows, add vanilla and stir slowly to combine.

    Let cool completely before using. Store syrup in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

HOW TO MAKE

Caramel Frozen Blended Coffee

  • 01

    Blend your Starbucks VIA® Instant Italian Roast coffee in a blender along with your milk, caramel syrup, salt and ice. Mix on high until smooth.
    • A pinch of salt helps with the consistency of the drink, and we recommend using whole milk for a better texture.
  • 02

    Once blended, pour the mixture into your glass and top your drink off with a swirl of whipped cream and an additional drizzle of caramel sauce for the full café experience.

  • 0.25|cup
    water
  • 0.5|cup
    hot water
  • 1|tsp
    pure vanilla extract
