Caramel Syrup

  • 1 cup
    sugar
  • 1/4 cup
    water
  • 1/2 cup
    hot water
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
HOW TO MAKE
  • 01

    Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat until it dissolves, about 3 to 4 minutes. Do not let it boil.

    Once completely dissolved, increase heat to medium-high and cover. Let boil for 2 to 3 minutes.

    Uncover and stir slowly until the color resembles light honey, about 6 minutes.

    Remove from heat. Very carefully add hot water. The mixture may spurt when adding water, so stand back. 
  • 05

    Once the bubbling slows, add vanilla and stir slowly to combine.
  • 06

    Let cool completely before using. Store syrup in an airtight container for up to two weeks.

Eggnog Hot Coffee

  • 01

    Brew coffee into a 12-oz mug.
  • 02

    Froth eggnog with your preferred hot frothing method. Pour into mug.
  • 03

    Stir to combine.
    • For a more indulgent experience, top with whipped cream, a pinch of nutmeg and a drizzle of caramel.
